This month we celebrate the 120th birthday of Nintendo.. what this has to do with Cail Green i don’t know but i’ll never forget duck hunt, mike tyson’s punch out or the Power Glove! Childhood memories bring me back to the early 80s so i was surprised to learn Nintendo was such an old company.

In a nutshell, Nintendo used to make these cards called Hanafuda cards (“flower cards”) which might be the japanese equivalent of our standard poker deck back in 1889. They did that for a while, linked up with Disney for the rights to print Mickey Mouse trading cards that apparently killed in Japan and the company experienced different levels of success as it passed from one generation to the next to the next. At one point Nintendo took a stab at the short stay love hotel industry, I know kupa was down but the princess wasn’t feelin it so we arrive in 1970 where Nintendo takes it’s first step in the toy industry and the rest is history. .. and if you can remember what the code above was for, now is the time to pat yourself on the back.
